Ming is a fourth year PhD of the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB) program.
Ming finished his undergraduate study in South China University of Technology while doing an internship at Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI)-Shenzhen where he participated in human-related genomics research. After graduation, he worked for BGI for a year and a half visiting UC-Berkeley, hosted by the Rasmus Lab, to collaborate on population demographic inference.
Ming currently investigates potential biological roles of G4 by integrating newly assembled DNA, transcriptome and proteomics data from various tissues across maize lines under different treatments.
In his spare time, Ming spends a lot of time in the gym. Ming especially enjoys hanging out with friends doing things together, like skiing, dining out, movie night, board games, road trip to national parks and camping there for a while. Once a while, Ming also cooks delicious meals for his friends.
