Lawrence Lab Project Coordinator
Darwin received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1985 from Northwest Missouri State University in secondary agriculture education (teaching vocational agriculture and FFA Advisor.) Besides teaching high school, he has worked for Iowa State University in several different capacities, each position heavily weighted to utilizing technology.
His most recent position with USDA before joining the Lawrence Lab involved the implementation of a VMware virtual infrastructure with multiple terabyte attached storage. Rack mount and blade servers, provided the computational power for Oracle, Postgres and MySQL databases; Dokuwiki and WordPress content management systems, that utilize both commercial (Windows, Mac, RedHat Enterprise Linux) and open source operating system (OS) (CentOS).
Darwin likes to engage with technology and is always open to new challenges. Woodworking and serious D.I.Y. home projects are always on top of his list of ways to occupy time. Recently he and his family built (not contracted out, but BUILT) their home in rural Cambridge, Iowa.
